Sen. Diaz makes push for Walmart in The Bronx

THE BRONX - State Sen. Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) is making a push for Walmart to move into The Bronx after the big-box retailer had record sales during Black Friday.

In a release yesterday, Diaz said the city's poor are missing out on the bargain prices that the store could provide. He says he doesn't see any opposition from residents about bringing the chain to the borough.

A recent New York Times and CBS News poll found that 79 percent of those questioned from The Bronx are in favor of a Walmart.
