Senior center raising funds to stay open

THE BRONX - The Glebe Avenue Senior Center is raising funds to stay open after it was cut from the city budget.

Local officials were able to keep the center open through discretionary funds. Staff and patrons at the senior center say they need the services provided by the organization.

They reached out to community members for donations of supplies like coffeemakers and microwaves.

The center is still taking donations of household items and supplies.
