SOUNDVIEW - Several cars were found illegally dumped in Soundview Lagoon and near the water’s edge on Gildersleeve Avenue, angering environmentalists.

Elbin Mena, president of the Harding Park Environmental Center, said the vehicles were not there Tuesday.

“I've been cleaning lagoons for 20 years,” said Mena. “This is not going to happen in my backyard anymore.”

Police and the Parks Department were notified about the abandoned vehicles.

No arrests have been made.
