Sheet of ice brings injuries in The Bronx

THE BRONX - Bronx residents were greeted by very slippery conditions this morning after ice pellets rained down, causing injuries that landed some in the hospital.

At Saint Barnabas Hospital, one emergency room doctor said he saw a 50-percent spike in injuries related to people slipping on ice.

Doctors say the best way to guard against injury is to move slowly and keep your hands free to help break a fall.
