CO-OP CITY - Thousands of Bronx residents headed out as early as last night to start their Black Friday shopping.

A local Toys R Us opened at 9 p.m. last night and the Kmart in Bay Plaza opened at 5 a.m.

Many shoppers said they took care of the majority of their holiday shopping today, but that they will still be in stores up until Christmas.

As an incentive to keep the shoppers flowing in their stores, some offered staggered discounts to Black Friday deals at different times of the day.
