Slain Bronx mom, 2 kids laid to rest

THE BRONX - Family and friends said their final goodbyes Saturday to a Bronx mother and her two children who were killed in their Brooklyn apartment last week.

Police say 22-year-old Jessica Ybe and her daughters, ages 2 and 5, were stabbed to death last Friday by Ybe's boyfriend, 24-year-old Jermaine Ruiz. Ybe's body was discovered in a garbage bag, investigators say, and her daughters were rolled up in a carpet.

Ybe's and Ruiz's twin 7-month-old children survived the attack and were present at their mother's funeral following a ruling by a Brooklyn Supreme Court judge.

Ruiz has been charged with three counts of murder.
