THE BRONX - Family members of a man they say was killed trying to break up a bodega fight were in court Friday fighting for justice in his death.

According to family members Joseph Vega, 21, was fatally shot in February while trying to break up a fight at a local deli. Police say Vega and another man were shot during the incident. The other man survived.

Suspected gunman Roman Javier pleaded not guilty to all charges connected to Vega's death during Friday's court appearance. He is scheduled to appear in court again on June 11.

Vega left behind a pregnant girlfriend.
