Slushy streets snarl BX evening commute

THE BRONX - Drivers around the borough were taking it slow this evening on the slippery roads as the city continued to dig out from the latest blast of snow.

Commuters slowly made their way along the Major Deegan Expressway, carefully driving along roadside snow mounds that cut down on lane space.

Some drivers say they were trying to get home quickly before temperatures dropped and the slush turned into more perilous black ice.

Last night's storm dumped nearly 2 feet of snow on the borough, and snow continued to fall at times today.
