THE BRONX - Saturday's snow has added weight to the already heavy, dense snow leftover on rooftops.

In Morris Park, one vacant house lost the majority of its roof after it buckled under the pressure of snow and ice.

Just two days earlier, a house across the street suffered a collapsed awning as a result of the snow.

Tony Serrano says the property damage is common. "Now all of a sudden this year, we're getting a lot of snow back to back and obviously a lot of things are falling apart," he says.

One resident in Van Cortlandt Village is lucky compared to many others who suffered damages, as only his snow guard collapsed.

Removing snow from a high place such as an awning or roof can be dangerous, so residents are urged to call a roof contractor or landscaper to remove the built-up snow.
