Snow, rain to bring slushy start to new year

THE BRONX - ? The last storm of 2009 is bringing snow and sleet to the area. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that is in effect for the metro area until 6 p.m.

News 12 Meteorologist Rhonda Lee says after all is said and done we will have between 1-3 inches of snow on the ground by sunset. Most of the snow is expected to mix with rain by the afternoon.

The MTA warned passengers this morning that there will be delays due to the weather. Drivers are urged to use caution.
