Snow turns to sleet, freezing rain in the Bronx

NEW YORK - After two major blasts of snow, the Bronx faced more brutal winter weather with sleet and freezing rain on Tuesday.

Heavy rain is expected throughout the evening commute. Drivers are urged to go slow and exercise extreme caution.

After a Christmas weekend blizzard dumped 20 inches of snow onNew York City, Mayor Michael Bloomberg was criticized for the slowcleanup. This time his Department of Sanitation says it had saltspreaders ready.
