THE BRONX - More than 100 National Guard soldiers from the 27th Infantry Brigade came home after serving in Kuwait for almost a year.

Most of the soldiers served in support of operation Enduring Freedom, and have been deployed since January.

One sergeant was in Manhattan to greet the homecoming troops because he knows how overwhelming it can be to get acclimated to new surroundings after such a long time of being away.

Every 30 days for three months the soldiers are to be reunited with the Army as part of a 30-60-90 program.

Troops will continue to come home into the New Year.
