Some BX residents take advantage of Thanksgiving Day sales

CO-OP CITY - Some Bronx residents say they spent the early hours of their Thanksgiving holiday shopping at stores that offered big sales ahead of Black Friday.

Shoppers flocked to the Kmart in Co-op City to take advantage of Black Friday deals without the hassle of big crowds.

However, some residents say they feel stores that open on Thanksgiving, among them Walmart, Gap and Target, are starting the Black Friday frenzy too soon.

Those opposed to the early Black Friday deals say it takes away from the spirit of the holiday.
