THE BRONX - Some Bronx residents who were looking for a more traditional Thanksgiving dinner this year headed to live poultry markets.

For those at Saroop and Son on Webster Avenue, they say it's the busiest time of year. They say they sell hundreds of live turkeys over the holiday weekend. Saroop's owner says customers prefer the live turkey over a frozen one because it's fresh and is usually more tender.

Turkeys at Saroop and Son cost approximately $1.80 per pound.
