THE BRONX - A historic church in Soundview is still recovering from the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy four years after the storm.

The Green Pasture Baptist Church's roof was renovated in a $50,000 project. During the 2012 storm, the entire roof split open, leaking into the church below.

Other repairs are needed to fix chipped paint and a broken dome, among others.

Parishioners say they are grateful to have repairs like the new roof and that they will continue worshipping downstairs until the repairs are finally complete.
