THE BRONX - Investigators say that the man accused in the first city homicide of 2013 is believed to be driving a stolen car from Maine.

According to authorities, 25-year-old Raymond Mayrant had been picked up by a father and daughter as a hitchhiker in Connecticut. They say Mayrant was driven to Maine and given a meal in the family's home before he stole their car and drove it to The Bronx.

Once in the borough, Mayrant allegedly shot and killed 59-year-old Elzina Brown. He also wounded his girlfriend, who is Brown's daughter.
