THE BRONX - People in the South Bronx are demanding reparations after they say the city destroyed their beloved community garden.

According to residents, developers bulldozed and paved over the Morning Glory Garden on 149th Street without any warning last October.

A spokesperson with the Department of Housing and Preservation says the land is on city property, and the gardeners who used it were trespassing.

The now-paved lot is expected to be the site of an affordable housing complex.
