HUNTS POINT - Members of a Hunts Point organization are calling on the city and the state to re-ramp the Bruckner Expressway.

The Southern Bronx River Watershed Alliance wants ramps built from the Bruckner Expressway to the Hunts Point Peninsula.

Advocates for the expressway construction say the lack of accessibility forces 15,000 trucks to navigate local roads daily. As a result, the group says the community faces issues regarding public safety and public health.

The alliance says the city is releasing a two-year study of the area this week. The report is said to include recommendations for direct ramp access to the Hunts Point Peninsula.
