THE BRONX - Cancer patients at Montefiore medical Center got a special delivery when they received hand-knitted blankets that left them feeling warm and loved.

Dolores Nelson, a breast cancer survivor, pledged to help others after her cancer went into remission. Nelson and other Bronx women worked for months to crochet blankets and deliver them to other cancer patients.

"When someone has this blanket," Nelson said. "I want them to keep it for life and know people love them and somebody cares."
