Speed bumps put the brakes on speeding Pelham motorists

PELHAM - New speed bumps in Pelham have put the brakes on speeding drivers and put smiles on some residents' faces.

Residents on Holland and Barnes avenues say for years their streets have been raceways for motorists. Barnes Avenue residents say drivers would speed down the street trying to beat the light at the end, which was a danger to many kids going to and from the library down the block.

Now, drivers turning onto those streets from Pelham Parkway will have to slow down.
