THE BRONX - A building at 1349 Stadium Ave. has gone into foreclosure.

People in the area say the building became a pigpen after Bank of America took over the property. They say it became a fire hazard when the leaves grew high, the dust began to settle and pine trees turned dry.

Contractors appeared after resident Jack Manna called News 12 The Bronx for help, claiming they were sent to the property by the bank. Bank of America says it is "committed to maintaining bank owner properties to neighborhood standards, but has limited authority for properties that are still in the foreclosure process and remain in the legal ownership of the borrower."

Bank of America also says its contractors will do any work they are allowed to do prior to acquiring a title through foreclosure.
