THE BRONX - Whether you are a city dweller in New York or blasting womp rats on Tatooine, it seems like the whole galaxy is excited about the opening of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

The seventh installment of the film hit theaters across the country at midnight.

Several advanced screenings premiered Thursday at the Bay Plaza Cinema and the Grand Concourse Multiplex.

Movie-goers are urged to act fast to avoid sold-out shows.
