THE BRONX - A block party was held Saturday to kick off the soft launch of the Startup Box company here in the Bronx.

The purpose of the event was to bring people together to see how Startup Box plans to bring technology-rich jobs to the borough, where they say such positions are rarely available.

Startup Box CEO Majora Carter says it was important to explain to people how they can go from consumers to producers of technology.

The party featured food vendors and a video game tournament.
