State comptroller: $168M in unclaimed funds in the Bronx

THE BRONX - The New York State Comptroller's Office is encouraging Bronx residents to recover what they say is $168 million in unclaimed funds throughout the borough.

The office says it has broken down the figures by zip codes. Officials say about $14 million in unclaimed checks is scattered just in Norwood, Bedford Park and parts of Williamsburg.

Many residents say that money is desperately needed and hope it will get back in the hands of the people it's owed to.
