EAST BRONX - A new report released by state Sen. Jeffrey Klein says that some convicted sex offenders are living too close to schools.

The report shows that a convicted sex offender is living less than 900 feet away from the Bronx Little Elementary School. State law requires that convicted sex offenders must live at least 1,000 feet away from any school, but Klein says school addresses weren't updated and inaccurate zip codes were registered.

Seven sex offenders were found living too close to city schools, with four of them in the Bronx.

Klein says the state is making changes; all the sex offenders in question are being moved and address updates will now be given quarterly instead of annually.
