WOODLAWN - After a powerful storm makes it way through The Bronx, Con Edison crews will be working through the night to restore power for its more than 1,300 customers who are now in the dark as of 9:30 p.m.

Con Edison says the worst of the blackout is in Woodlawn, where 970 of its customers lost power at the same time. Businesses affected by the blackout are getting creative to stay open, utilizing candles, lanterns, and even car headlights in order to serve customers.

Con Ed says gas service has not been affected by the blackout.
