THE BRONX - More than 700 middle schoolers at M.S. 127 walked for breast cancer awareness today.

The students say they were inspired by assistant principal and five-year cancer survivor Jennifer Brooks.

Brooks was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 2008. She said her family at M.S. 127 pulled her through the hard times.

Students hope the walk will raise $5,000, which will be donated to the American Cancer Society in the hope of a finding a cure to the disease.
