THE BRONX - Some Bronx students are leading the charge to create a safer Claremont Park.

Many kids say the park is a haven for gangs with frequent fights during their walks home from school, so they took their concerns and a few suggestions straight to the Parks Department.

Officials took notice of their concerns and installed three solar-powered emergency call boxes.

The Parks Department credits the NYPD for putting in the boxes.
