THE BRONX - More than 100 students today helped clean up a Bronx cemetery that is the final resting place for the veterans of four wars.

As part of It’s My Park Day, students, neighbors and community leaders used rakes and shovels to beautify Old West Farms Soldiers Cemetery.

Volunteers also planted 1,000 daffodil bulbs as part of the 9/11 living memorial.

The Old West Farms Soldiers Cemetery opened in 1815 and was recognized by the Landmark Preservation Commission as a landmark in 1966.
