Studio brings celebrities to the Bronx

HUNTS POINT - Bronx residents are getting a taste of Hollywood after a new studio space opened in Hunts Point.

David Appelson, the owner of Lightbox New York, says his friends told him about the Bronx space for years before he checked it out himself. Once he saw the level of natural lighting in the building, he new it would make a perfect photography studio.

Appelson now hosts magazine photo shoots, music videos and private parties at the studio, bringing celebrities like Christina Aguilera to the neighborhood. He says the studio also features a lounge.

"You don't have the noise, the bad parking, the expense of Manhattan," Appelson says.
