THE BRONX - The Summer Job Mentorship Program at St. Barnabas Hospital entered its third year this summer.
The six-week program puts teens to work for four days a week inside the hospital while shadowing professionals. They also have time outside St. Barnabas for community service.
The summer session is designed to keep teens off the streets and teach them the risks of teen pregnancy and STDs.
The program was given a five-year grant through New York State’s Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (CAPP).
