NORWOOD - A Bronx road was blocked to traffic today for a street festival with food, shopping and fun.

The Bainbridge Avenue Merchants Association closed down East 204th Street from Bainbridge to Decatur avenues for the third annual Summer Streets event series.

The festival had performances, vendors and an open street for kids to play. The event promoted small business in the area and encouraged Bronx residents to shop locally.

The merchant association also hopes to create a business improvement district for the area by the end of the year.
