THE BRONX - SUNY Maritime cadets are setting sail and shipping out from Throgs Neck.

Cadets from the school departed on the college?s training ship this morning as family and friends looked on. The cadets will spend their summer living on the ship and training at different ports throughout the world.

Maritime cadets spend each summer between the end of their freshman year to the beginning of their senior year on the ship. The trips give them experience and hours to qualify for a coast guard license.
