THE BRONX - (AP) - A sophomore cadet at the State University of NewYork Maritime College was crushed to death while changing the oilin his vehicle on the school's campus parking lot.

School officials say 20-year-old Benjamin Bragg, of Mandeville,La., was taken by ambulance to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronxafter the Friday accident, but efforts to save him wereunsuccessful.

School officials released a statement saying they were deeplysaddened by the tragic loss.

SUNY Maritime is a four-year college in Throgs Neck thatprepares students for careers in the maritime and private industry,government and military.
