MANHATTAN - Mayoral hopeful Bill Thompson is expecting a high turnout as Primary Day winds down across the city.

Thompson previously served as New York City comptroller and lost to Mayor Bloomberg in the 2009 election.

The Democrat has trailed fellow candidate Bill de Blasio in recent polls.

Many New Yorkers say they expect both Thompson and de Blasio to force a runoff election if they split the primary vote.
