THE BRONX - The suspect who allegedly killed a 46-year-old man in their Melrose building elevator faced a judge on Monday.

Junal Jordan pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder for the death of Bakary Darboe. Investigators say Jordan was seen on surveillance shadow boxing before he brutally beat Darboe.

Dozens of family and community members filled the courthouse for the sentencing.

"So difficult to look right into his face ‘cause he took somebody from us," said the victim’s wife, Satou Darboe.

Members of the Gambian Islamic community say they plan to help the immigrant family as they continue to mourn and fight in court.

Darboe's family say they will continue to come to court until they feel justice has been served.
