THE BRONX - Police are searching for a male suspect who assaulted and robbed a woman in a Crotona Park apartment building.

Surveillance video released from the morning of Dec. 20 shows the suspect checking an elevator for cameras inside an apartment building on Washington Avenue. Police say the suspect entered the elevator with his victim and exited a floor below her. They say he ran up a flight up stairs and assaulted and robbed the victim as she attempted to exit the elevator.

The 57-year-old victim was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries. She has since been released and is expected to make a full recovery.
