Suspected 'Vaseline Bandit' arrested and charged

THE BRONX - Police say they've found the burglar they've been referring to as the "Vaseline Bandit." Luis Gonzalez, of The Bronx, has been arrested and charged for robbing and vandalizing apartments throughout New York City. Gonzalez allegedly burglarized 14 places in Manhattan between September 2011 and March 2012, as well as seven Bronx apartments, dating back to May 2011. Police say that in each incident, peepholes were rubbed with a substance similar to petroleum jelly in order to obstruct view.
