Swimming contest held as Hermine swirls offshore

The Edgewater Athletic Association hosted its 100th anniversary of its Labor Day Olympics Sunday as Hermine churns offshore.

Organizers say they have put extra boats out on the water in case the current causes the platform kids are jumping off of to drift away.

THE BRONX - The Edgewater Athletic Association hosted its 100th anniversary of its Labor Day Olympics Sunday as Hermine churns offshore.

Organizers said they put extra boats out on the water in case the current caused the platform kids are jumping off of to drift away.

Although New York City beaches were closed, the event was being held on private property.
