A taxi drivers group is calling for a law that would make any assault against drivers a felony charge after one cabbie was slashed in the throat by two women going to the Bronx.

The Taxi Drivers of America and the New York Taxi & Limousine Commission are calling for the law. The groups say they want warning signs posted on cabs saying assault is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
