THE BRONX - Small business owners in the Bronx are predicting how successful they'll be in 2014 as part of a new citywide survey.

According to the TD Bank Small Business Pulse Check, 40 percent of the small business owners in the borough expect to see a growth in revenue this year. However, the prospect of more money isn't necessarily translating into jobs with only 29 percent of those polled planning to expand their workforce.

The survey found that 35 percent of Bronx owners believe that President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act will have hurt their businesses. It also revealed that 56 percent say the U.S. economy has trickled down with a negative impact locally.

The survey polled 500 small businesses with revenue of $5 million or less across the five boroughs.
