Teacher admits to past prostitution, temporarily reassigned

MOUNT EDEN - A Bronx teacher has been temporary stripped of her title after she made her past experiences as a prostitute public.

Melissa Petro, a teacher at P.S. 70, made her experiences public in a memoir entitled 'Stripping in Mexico' that was published by the Huffington Post online. She claimed that she accepted money for sexual services from October 2006 to January 2007. Seven months later, she was hired by the Department of Education.
