Teen arrested in murder of Riverdale baby boy

THE BRONX - A Brooklyn teenager has been arrested on murderand manslaughter charges in the death of a 9-month-old Bronx baby boy whohad been left in his care.Police say 17-year-old Martin Quirindongo was arrested Wednesdayafter little Ryan Ferrer's death was ruled a homicide. It wasn'tclear if the suspect had an attorney. The medical examiner's office says the boy had blunt impactinjuries and suffered bleeding in his brain. His internal organswere also bruised and cut. Authorities say Quirindongo was baby-sitting the infant at anapartment located in a Riverdale housing project Tuesday morning whilethe mother was at work. Police responded to the apartment after a 911 call of anunconscious child. The baby later died at a hospital.AP wire services contributed to this report
