THE BRONX - The temperature in the Bronx hit 100 degrees today amid the fifth day of the aggressive heat wave.

Some areas, such as the Major Deegan, received readings of 104 degrees.

Residents are advised to drink 4-5 liters of water per day. Residents should also avoid going from the sweltering heat into air conditioning too many times, as it could potentially send your body into shock and compromise your immune system.

The blasting heat is expected to continue until Saturday, after which the area will see a significant cool-down.
