THE BRONX - Tenants at a Knightsbridge Heights building were in housing court today after refusing to pay rent.

The residents of 3094 Villa Ave. say their building has rats and mold, and is without heat and gas.

The city's housing website shows hundreds of open violations, but tenants claim NYC Management, which serves the building, hasn't done anything to alleviate the problems.

Last September, tenants stopped paying rent in protest of the bad conditions. However, this decision landed them in housing court today for falling behind in payments.

Tenants say the judge gave them and NYC Management one more week to resolve their differences. If a settlement can’t be made, they will be back in court on Oct. 7.
