THE BRONX - Tenants of the man accused of being the worst landlord in New York City say their experience has only gotten worse over time.

But when contacted by News 12 about renters' complaints, Ved Parkash said he had no idea that his tenants were living in squalor.

When News 12 mentioned that tenants say they've complained multiple times, Parkash said, "No, absolutely no. That's false accusations."

News 12 has previously reported that the city’s public advocate, Letitia James, named Parkash at the top of her list of the 100 worst landlords across the boroughs.

Richard Tremble, a tenant at 1530 Sheridan Ave., says that when he called to complain, the person who answered hung up the phone.

Tremble says his ceiling and walls are decaying, floors peeling and faucets leaking.

At another of Parkash's buildings, this one on Grand Concourse, another tenant's ceiling is falling apart due to a leak.

Alice Funmilayo, 70, says that the damage returns every winter. Nothing, she says, is permanently fixed.

Parkash says he's instructed his building supervisors to check out the issues.
