THE BRONX - Tenants are being reminded of their heat guidelines as frigid winter weather sets in.

Landlords are required to keep the indoor temperature at least 68 degrees between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. if it's below 55 degrees outside.

During the overnight hours, it must be at least 55 degrees in your apartment if it's below 40 degrees outdoors.

Residents who think their landlord is not complying with the heat guidelines should first talk with their building manager. If that doesn't work, they should file a complaint by calling 311.
