THE BRONX - The long-awaited, highly anticipated NBA free agency period kicked off today with a whirlwind of meetings between team executives and one of the most decorated list of available players in league history.

But most Bronx residents say their sights are set on the jewel of the free agent class, LeBron James. Executives for the New York Knicks and New Jersey Nets were given first crack at trying to woo James in Ohio.

"The Knicks are my favorite team, LeBron's my favorite player," McKinson says.
