THE BRONX - The Reservoir Oval, off of Van Cortlandt Avenue in Norwood, has been called dangerous for years, but the city is now stepping in to give it a much needed facelift.

In addition to a fresh coat of pavement, the Oval will receive brand new sidewalks and crosswalks.

The city Department of Transportation say the construction is part of an effort to increase pedestrian safety, improve park access, calm traffic and reduce speeding.

Norwood residents are welcoming the changes and feel the additional safety features will save lives in the future.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
