Thousands line Throgs Neck streets to honor veterans at parade

THROGS NECK - Thousands of Bronx residents lined the streets in Throgs Neck to honor veterans at a Veterans Day weekend parade.

The 27th annual parade honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the country.

Many parents used the parade as an opportunity to teach their children about the sacrifices made by veterans.

"You have to show your children what it means to be part of the country," says Noemi Spziant. "What it means to risk your life for the country. It's not an easy undertaking; it's not something that's taken lightly."
